BEETHOVEN'S VIOLIN CONCERTO (OP.61)

Let's take a break from all the hardware and focus on the software. After all, the hardware is the slave to the software. It is sad but true, many people have fallen by the wayside and become enslaved to their equipment; choosing to play the same piece of music over and over again in the pursuit of audiophilia*
I love violin concertos and the Beethoven is my favourite. Of the 8 versions I have, this is the one I return to over and over again. There is no doubt in my mind that Jascha Heifetz is the greatest violinist of the 20th century. His technique is flawless and that warm, full bodied plus fluid tonality has never been reproduced by anybody else. If you love violin music, you owe it to yourself to check out Heifetz and the Beethoven Violin Concerto. I thank God I managed to purchase this wonderful LP (complete with extensive notes on Heifetz) from ebay for USD5.
*Audiophilia
My definition for a group of people obsessed with getting their setup to reproduce the last iota of irrelevant detail (e.g. timpani player whom by accident released some gas while striking his timpani during the fortissimo).
